Artwork Preparation

Your approved artwork is separated into individual colors according to the printing requirements.

Cylinder Engraving

Each printing color requires a dedicated engraved cylinder. Tiny recessed cells on the cylinder hold the required amount of ink

Ink Transfer

The engraved cylinder rotates through the ink and transfers ink from the recessed cells onto the packaging film. A doctor blade removes excess ink from the cylinder surface.

Multi-Color Printing

The film passes through multiple printing stations, with each cylinder applying a different color. CMYK, Pantone/spot colors and white ink can be combined depending on the artwork.

Drying & Inspection

The printed film passes through drying systems before being rewound and inspected for color, registration and print quality.

Lamination & Bag Making

For laminated packaging, the printed film can then be laminated with additional layers, cured, slit and converted into the finished bags or pouches
